Summer always goes by too fast for some people and too slow for others. When I was a kid, summer break lasted for three months! By the time Labor Day rolled around, I was usually pretty excited to start a new year. By then I had already spent a few weeks buying and trying on my new clothes and getting my school supplies. I was eager to see who would be in my classes and what my teachers would be like. I loved school, at least up until high school.

But like it or not, it’s time again for the kiddos and teachers to head back to the classrooms. Some will be excited and others will be filled with anxiety. Not all children have a good time at school. Making friends and learning can be easy or discouraging. Mothers will be happy or worried. So please say a little pray for everyone as they transition to their new routines and have compassion on the struggling ones.

And please, drive safely near school zones and school buses. Protect our children!
