The people spoke loud and clear and City Council responded as they should, the deal is dead . There was some question on whether it was going to be a data center or a crypto mining operation, but either way, it was not wanted.
Some might say that the city should accept a deal like this for the “financial benefits”, but those benefits are often both overstated and very limited in scope. If people really understood how big tech is going to be used in the future they would never want to profit from it.
