After living in Cat Spring for over twenty years, I still feel so thankful and blessed that God led us to this βremoteβ country paradise!
Whatβs so great about it, you ask ?
The sky! No matter if itβs winter , spring, summer, or fall, the sky is always a spirit-lifting blue, when itβs not raining of course. The air is clean and we get gorgeous pink and orange sunsets and zillions of stars at night thanks to very little light pollution.

Birds! In addition to flocks of resident Cardinals, wrens, hawks, crows, bluebirds, water fowl, and the occasionally seen eagle, Cat Spring is in the migration path for many kinds of birds including Hummingbirds and Robins.

Wildflowers! Every spring, and even lasting through the summer, colorful bluebonnets, daisies, buttercups, paintbrushes and other wildflowers fill the yards, roadsides and pastures and anything with dirt in it.

Wildlife and nature! I enjoy observing the creatures that live on our property. Cat Spring is home to so many cute rabbits , tame deer, beneficial possums, annoying raccoons, determined turtles and seen on my game camera, occasional cruising coyotes and even lurking bobcats. After twenty years Iβm even used to snakes and spiders. But beware the ants!

Winter! Texas winters are usually mild, but occasionally we get snow and it makes for beautiful landscapes.

Trees! I love trees and Cat Spring has a lot of them, mostly cedars, pines, elms, and ash. We also have wild Yaupon plants from which you can harvest leaves and make real tea!

Thereβs more but I must stop for now. Leave me a comment below and share what you love about Cat Spring.
